After throwing “The Britt Bash” on The Haunted Star, Britt attempted to slip away and leave Port Charles to tour the world but ended up saving Joss from The Hook Killer, only to be hooked with the murderer’s poisonous hook. Knowing she wouldn’t make it to the hospital in time, and already facing the ticking time bomb inside her head known as Huntington’s Disease, she chose to return to the boat and die in her mother’s arms.
Nina Learns She’s Willow’s Mother
As Willow grew sicker and was facing death, it was finally revealed to her family she had leukemia, and finding a bone marrow donor hadn’t panned out. Carly was forced to reveal the secret she had been hiding that Harmony told her on her death bed, that Nina had twins and Madeline gave one of them, Willow, to her to raise. While Nina turned out not to be a match for Willow, eventually her Aunt Leisl was.
Heather Meets Her Daughter Esme
After escaping Wyndemere by jumping from the parapet, Esme was apprehended for her crimes against Trina, Cam and Joss, but had no memory of who she was. She was remanded to Spring Ridge where not only her biological father Ryan was, but also her mother Heather. Heather befriended Esme, though didn’t reveal their connection initially.
Joss Breaks Up With Cam
Joss began growing closer to Dex, and after almost dying at the hands of The Hook Killer, gave in and made love to Dex. Cam eventually caught them together and it brought an end to his and Joss’ relationship, as well as their friendship… especially when she asked Cam not to tell anyone about her and Dex. The nerve! In time Cam and Joss became friendly again, but Cam ended up moving to California on a soccer scholarship to Standford.
Holly Returns From the Dead as Lucy is Presumed Dead
Victor abducted Lucy with help from Holly, who he had frame Anna for her murder. Victor was holding Holly’s son Ethan hostage, forcing her to do his dirty work. Anna and Valentin eventually learned Lucy was alive and worked to find her, finally locating her in one of Victor’s old bunkers in the Paris catacombs. However, an old contact of Valentin’s sold them out to Victor. During a gunfight with Victor’s men, the catacombs flooded and Anna and Valentin went missing along with Lucy. All three escaped but faked their deaths and were forced to hide out in a safe house from Victor, who was after the whereabouts of a secret weapon he and his brother Mikkos developed.
Nikolas and Spencer Clash
After Nikolas learned his father was also the father of Esme’s unborn child, Spencer vowed to fight his father and Esme for custody of the baby. Nikolas was further enraged after learning Ava had given Spencer his taped confession to “killing” Esme to help him with his case.
Cody Learns Gladys is Fleecing Sasha
Having been working with Ms. Wu to throw her high-stakes poker games, Cody met Gladys, who fell deep into debt to Selina. Cody soon learned Gladys was his new friend Sasha’s mother-in-law, Sasha’s guardian, and he discovered she had sold Brando’s garage to Selina to pay her debts without Sasha knowing. And this was only the beginning of what Gladys was capable of…
Willow Gives Birth
With the renewed hope of a bone marrow transplant from Obrecht, Willow agreed to give birth to her and Michael’s daughter early, and baby Amelia was born. Nina and Sonny kept their distance, and Michael was still determined to bring Sonny down with Dex’s help. Carly, meanwhile, was forgiven by everyone in about five seconds for keeping the secret about Nina and Willow. Well, everyone BUT Nina that is.
Harmony Tries to Take Willow Into the Light
While giving birth, Willow hemorrhaged and saw Harmony in the light. Harmony tried to take her with her into the light, which in reality was the last place Harmony should be given what she’d done. Fortunately, Michael’s voice pulled Willow back to the world of the living.
Ava Kills Nikolas – So She Thinks
After being blackmailed by his son Spencer with the evidence Ava gave him, and the fact that Elizabeth was cracking and ready to confess that she helped him keep Esme hostage, Nikolas confronted Ava to make her pay. He threatened to flee with Avery, so Ava hit him over the head with a figurine to stop him. Austin arrived at that moment, declared Nikolas dead, and helped Ava hide his body in the stables. Soon everyone believed Nikolas fled town to avoid criminal charges.
Portia’s Secret Comes Out After Saying ‘I Do’
Stella learned the secret Portia was hiding from Jordan, that Curtis might be Trina’s father. She couldn’t in good conscience attend Portia and Curtis’ wedding, and even after Jordan confronted her before her wedding, Portia refused to tell Curtis the truth and married him. However, when Stella told Trina that her mother was keeping something from her and Curtis, Trina confronted her mother after the wedding and Portia admitted that Curtis may be Trina’s father.
Ryan and Heather Escape with Esme
As Dante and Sam investigated Esme’s old nanny in England and learned Ryan was Esme’s father, back in Spring Ridge, Esme learned the truth about her biological parents. Heather and Ryan put a plan into motion to escape Spring Ridge, and they took Esme hostage with them, fleeing to Spoon Island.
Ryan’s Reign of Terror Ends
Ryan, Heather and Esme arrived on Spoon Island. While Ryan held Felicia and Ava hostage and planned to kill them, Heather attacked Austin with a hook, revealing she was The Hook Killer. Esme broke away and fled, distracting Ryan who followed. Ava pursued them, having learned from Heather that Esme and Ryan worked together to destroy her marriage to Nikolas, and shot Ryan. However, it was Mac who delivered the killing shot to his long-time nemesis.
Esme Gives Birth
During the chaos of Heather and Ryan’s terrorizing Spoon Island, and as Heather was arrested, Esme went into labor and gave birth to baby boy Ace with Kevin and Laura’s help. The experience led to Esme beginning to trust Laura.
Nikolas’ Body Goes Missing
Following up after the events of Ryan and Heather’s terrorizing Spoon Island, Ava and Austin were shocked when Dante found the closet in the stables that should have held Nikolas’ body was empty, though his shattered watch was left behind. Viewers soon learned that Austin’s cousin Mason had Nikolas, who was on life support. Mason began blackmailing Ava and Austin to help do his mysterious boss’ dirty work.
Anna Haunts Eileen
With everyone, including Victor, believing Lucy, Valentin and Anna had perished in Paris, Anna began haunting Deputy Mayor Eileen Ashby after they deduced she was working for Victor. Once she confessed on tape that Victor had framed Anna for Lucy’s death, they forced Eileen to work for them to discover what Victor was so desperate to find. She’d eventually learn he was after Leopold Taub’s necklace which had some of the original ice princess diamonds in it, the necklace Peter had left to Britt.
Marshall Learns He Wasted His Life Away
Curtis refused to return home with his new bride Portia after learning he may be Trina’s father. While Taggert was also told the news, Trina vowed he was her only father and did not want a DNA test. Meanwhile, Marshall, with pushing from Portia, went to a specialist who confirmed he was misdiagnosed years ago and had no signs of ever being schizophrenic. He was devastated to learn he threw years with his family away over a misdiagnosis.
The Show Must Go On
Stuck in the safe house with Anna, Valentine and Lucy… because they needed Victor to think they were dead to figure out his plan… Lucy fumed when she learned Maxie and Bobbie had planned to put on a Nurse Ball and co-chair it… without her. When she couldn’t bear the idea of the show going on without her, she snuck out to spy on Bobbie and Maxie, and eventually revealed herself to be alive to Maxie. Lucy demanded to be kept in the loop on the planning of the show, after explaining why she was in hiding.
Esme Goes Free
After the events on Spoon Island, Esme was returned to Spring Ridge and secured the legal rights to keep Ace with her, pending her sentencing to Pentonville. However given her amnesia was believed to be real, and the evidence against her flimsy, Cam, Joss and Trina agreed not to file charges against her because if the amnesiac Esme gained sympathy from the jury then she could not be tried again should her memories returned. Laura then extended an invitation to Esme to move in with her and Kevin, and Laura and Esme would continue to grow closer over the coming year.
Cody Confides the Truth in Dante… and Sasha
Growing closer to Sasha and knowing what Gladys was doing, he told her that Gladys sold Brando’s garage. However, Gladys told Sasha a sob story that the monthly bills of the unused garage were a constant reminder that Brando was gone. Cody also confessed to Dante he had lied about Mac not being his father. Though Dante kept his secret, he didn’t understand why Cody wouldn’t want a great guy like Mac as a dad. Cody felt he didn’t deserve Mac.
Curtis and Jordan Begin to Cross the Line
Unsure his marriage with Portia could survive, he began wondering what could have been if he hadn’t given up on Jordan so easily. Jordan pushed him not to make the same mistake he did with Portia as he did in their marriage and walk away from his new wife. However late one night at The Savoy they gave into passion and kissed. They almost took it further, but Jordan stopped things and again urged him to work things out with Portia.
Gregory Confides In Alexis
After noticing Gregory slurring at times, losing his balance, and his hands trembling, Alexis initially thought he was an alcoholic. He assured her that he wasn’t, and to back off his health issues. Eventually unable to hide it from her any longer, especially after learning he had retired from the university, he confided he had been diagnosed with ALS. Gregory wanted to create as many happy memories with his family before he no longer could, and he didn’t want them to look at him as a dying man. She kept his secret, while also convincing him to work with her at The Invader.
Valentin Reveals Himself to Carly and Drew
Taking a walk one night, Valentin encountered Drew and Carly on the footbridge, and they were surprised as everyone believed he had died in Paris with Anna and Lucy. He revealed the truth to them that they were all alive and working to bring Victor down, and they agreed to help him and Anna.
Elizabeth Is Exonerated
After striking a deal with the PCPD for immunity and turning Nikolas in for holding Esme hostage at Wyndemere, the hospital board was unsure if Elizabeth should continue to work there based on her poor judgment and felt she was ethically compromised. However, after letters of support from the staff, including Monica, the board chose to keep Elizabeth on board. Unfortunately Liz feared she had disappointed Epiphany, who was out of town looking at medical schools, and never sent in a letter supporting her.
Epiphany’s Tragic Death
News rocked Port Charles and the General Hospital staff when they learned of Epiphany Johnson’s sudden passing. Everyone gathered for her memorial, at which they learned Epiphany had died a hero. She stopped on the way home when she saw a woman’s car had gone off the road and found the woman unresponsive. She worked to save her life, but the intake of exhaust was too much for her heart condition and she passed away. Monica also shared with Liz the letter Epiphany had written to support Liz, and she intended to follow through with Epiphany’s recommendation that Elizabeth be named the new head nurse.
Victor Murders Eileen Ashby
Victor learned he had an incurable pathogen in his system that caused permanent erectile dysfunction for him. He also confided in Eileen that he needed the ice princess diamonds because they contained a code that would lead him to a device that he and his brother Mikos invented to save the world. After discovering Eileen had betrayed him and stolen his decryption key for the code to give to Anna and Valentin, she tried to save her hide by informing Victor that Valentin, Lucy and Anna were alive. That didn’t stop him from pushing Eileen to her death off the footbridge, and her body later washed up near the pier.
Maxie and Bobbie Host the Nurses Ball
Maxie and Bobbie co-hosted the Nurses Ball, which was also a celebration of General Hospital’s 60th anniversary… and 60 years on TV. It was as usual, full of surprises. The ball was dedicated not only to Epiphany but to Bobbie’s years of service to General Hospital. Unable to stay away, Victor and his men located Lucy backstage, and Sonny managed to save her life. Of course, as per tradition, Lucy hilariously tumbed on-stage and busted through a large portrait of herself which was part of the tribute segment to her, who everyone thought was dead. At least she kept her clothes on this time!
Brook Lynn and Blaze Take Linc Down
More surprises were in store at the Nurses Ball. Brook Lynn and Chase were once again estranged after she confessed she signed an NDA not to discuss Linc’s sexual misconduct in return for the rights to her songs back. However when she spotted him creeping on Joss backstage, she called Linc out publically, and Blaze backed her up. Chase arrested Linc, and he and Brook Lynn soon reunited. However, the biggest shock was during James and Georgie’s disappearing magic cabinet trick, during which they made Obrecht vanish and she didn’t return! It was soon discovered Victor had absconded with her and planned to flee Port Charles.
Gladys Frames Cody
After Cody threatened to expose Glady’s gambling debts and borrowing from Sasha accounts to repay them, Gladys framed Cody for stealing an expensive bracelet from her at the ball. Mac was forced to arrest Cody, and even Sasha began to doubt he was a good person. Cody turned to Sam for help, and confided in her that he suspected Gladys of framing him, but because of dangerous players involved, didn’t tell her the entire story.
Victor Shoots Anna
After learning from Eileen about his son and Anna’s plans, he located them at the safe house and forced Valentin to hand over Leopold’s necklace containing the codes embedded in them. He then paid his son back for his disloyalty by shooting Anna in the chest.
Victor Explains His Insane Plot to Save the World
Victor lured Spencer onboard The Haunted Star, where he was holding not just Dr. Obrecht, but had kidnapped Ace and had him on board too. Trina, disobeying Spencer, followed him and snuck on board. She managed to stay hidden for a while. Victor then revealed to Spencer and Obrecht that the population of the world had grown too much for the earth to survive, so he and Mikkos had created a pathogen that would kill 90 percent of the population, giving the earth a chance to reset all the damage mankind had done. He ordered Obrecht to develop an antidote for his family, and offered to share it with hers in return for her service. Both Spencer and Obrecht called Victor’s plan insanity.
Trina and Spencer Hatch a Plan
When Spencer learned Trina was on board, they hatched a plan for Spencer to create a distraction and fight with Victor and his men while Trina got to the control room and contacted Port Charles. The plan worked and Trina was able to call her mother and provide her with coordinates she saw on the ship’s computer. she was able to tell Portia… who she had been estranged from since the whole Curtis-Taggert reveal, that she loved her. Trina and Spencer were then apprehended, and Victor was disappointed another member of his family had betrayed him and vowed Ace would be raised to be the next Cassadine heir. When he threatened to throw them overboard, Obrecht saved them saying she needed them as test subjects for her antidote.
Tracy Returns to Save the Day!
Felicia meanwhile had headed to South America to scout out an old Cassadine compound down there in search of Victor. She was stunned to run into Holly. Holly explained when Victor realized she was not in a burn unit in Europe, he took Ethan hostage and forced her to do his bidding. As he fled Port Charles and put his final plan into motion, he made arrangements to sell Ethan off to his enemies at the highest bid. Together Holly and Felicia entered the auction but were outbid. When a mysterious woman came to collect Ethan, they were stunned to see it was Tracy! They narrowly escaped and boarded a plane to Port Charles, but Ethan returned to Australia to continue to play Robin Hood, stealing from the rich to right their wrongs by giving to organizations that helped the poor.
Brook Lynn Steps Up to Save Chase’s Job
Chase was surprised when he was given a second shot in front of the citizens’ review board to argue for his job back. At the hearing, Brook Lynn made a passionate speech about Chase, and the board decided to give Chase his job as a detective back. Brook Lynn kept the fact that she had called in a favor from Tracy to make this happen, and Tracy was clear she would collect on it someday.
Nina Calls the SEC
After learning from Ava that Carly and Drew had committed insider trading, she sat on the information, and Ava warned her not to use it if she ever wanted a relationship with her daughter. However, when Michael and Willow planned to wed immediately due to her condition, and Nina wasn’t invited, she instructed Martin to turn Carly and Drew into the SEC. She regretted the move about five seconds later.
Michael and Willow Marry, But Their Wedding is Crashed
When Obrecht was kidnapped by Victor before she could donate her bone marrow to save Willow’s life, fearing she might not make it until Obrecht returned, Willow told Michael she wanted to die as his wife. Michael and Willow were married in the Quartermaine mansion, but as the wedding came to an end, the Feds came for Carly. Drew was able to escape the country, and vowed to find Victor and Obrecht and bring Obrecht home to save Willow.
Dex Gets the Evidence for Michael
During a meeting with Pikeman, Dex was able to plant a camera and record the entire exchange. Dex, Sonny and Brick were stunned to learn Pikeman was shipping some of the worlds most dangerous weapons through Port Charles. Dex got the exchange on film and later provided Michael with the footage on a flash drive. It was the evidence Michael needed to put Sonny away for good.
Victor Locates the Pathogen
Laura, Curtis, Drew and Valentin headed for Greenland to stop Victor. Meanwhile, in an old Cassadine bunker, Victor located the pathogen he and Mikkos developed decades ago. While Curtis headed to the Haunted Star to rescue Spencer, Ace and Trina, Valentin, Laura and Drew confronted Victor in the bunker. Victor of course got the upper hand, and Laura soon recognized a familiar computer as a second weather machine aimed at Port Charles.
Anna Helps to Save Valentin
To test the pathogen, Victor had Obrecht inject it into Valentin, who was put into a secluded room. The pathogen began to take effect, and Valentin saw visions of Helena taunting him and threatening to drag him to hell with her. Anna and Holly arrived, while Victor fled with the pathogen and Obrecht back towards the Haunted Star. Anna sacrificed herself to be with Valentin, and the others chased after Victor to try and get the cure from Obrecht.
Holly Reveals to Victor, “It was me!”
Holly caught up with Victor on the way back to The Haunted Star and held him at gunpoint. As she taunted him with the fact that she had given him the poison that caused “Little Victor” to cease working, Obrecht begged Holly to shoot Victor. Fortunately, Drew arrived, and while they managed to save Obrecht, Victor fled with the pathogen. However, Obrecht had managed to steal the cure from Victor. Holly rushed back to the bunker to deliver the cure and save Anna and Valentin.
Jump For Your Love
Victor returned to The Haunted Star with the Pathogen and planned to set sail. While Curtis had got Ace and Trina off the boat, Spencer went back to try and stop Victor. Unbeknown to both of them, the WSB had been alerted by Robert about Victor’s plans. Unfortunately, Frisco had been outed as the director, and rather than let the rescue operation play out, they chose to nuke the boat by drones. Laura, Trina and the others watched in horror as the ship was blown up, apparently with Victor and Spencer onboard. However, Spencer was able to jump overboard upon recognizing the sound of the incoming drones and was reunited with his loved ones. Trina jumped into his arms overjoyed to see him, and they all returned home.
Victor is Dead… or Is He?
Victor’s body was eventually recovered from the water by the WSB, and Valentin identified his father’s remains. However seeing that Victor still had connections at the WSB, can we be sure this wasn’t a ruse and Victor is still alive, in hiding, somewhere?
Willow’s Possible Last Request
While the others were fighting Victor in Greenland, Willow’s body began to give out and she collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. Facing death, she asked to see Nina and begged her to end her feud with Carly. Knowing she’d already turned Carly into the SEC, Nina promised not to provoke Carly any further. Willow also, upon learning what Michael was planning to do to Sonny, begged him to drop his vendetta against his father, as it would tear his family apart, and he’d need them to be united to help raise their children.
Nobody Believes Ned
Upon returning from Greenland and being taken in by the Feds for questioning, Drew later punched and accused Ned of turning him and Carly into the SEC. Even Olivia believed Ned had done the dirty deed, though he maintained he was innocent. In time he was able to convince Olivia and Brook Lynn that he had not been the one who ratted Carly and Drew out. Unfortunately, nobody else believed him, not even his mother Tracy,
Willow Gets her Transplant
Willow, Nina, Michael and others were thrilled when Obrecht came home safe. Obrecht praised Drew as the hero who rescued her so she could save Willow’s life. The bone marrow transplant occurred, but Willow had to remain in isolation for several weeks until they knew it was a success… which it was. During her time recuperating, Willow was told by a nurse that Nina had been camping out in the waiting area night and day. The nurse made Willow realize if she could forgive Harmony for all she had done, she could perhaps give Nina a chance, which is what she did.
Portia’s War Against Spencer
Even though Trina came home safely from Greenland, and Curtis commended Spencer for his bravery in helping to save Trina, Portia remained convinced Spencer was bad news for her daughter. She was determined to break them up. Even Taggert warned her that she would only end up pushing her daughter away, but Portia remained determined to get Spencer out of Trina’s life.
Obrecht Ends Things with Scott
Upon reuniting with Scott after Greenland, Obrecht told him that while she loved him, she couldn’t be with him any longer. She could not forgive him for defending Elizabeth, feeling that if Liz had come forward earlier about Esme’s whereabouts in Wyndemere, the police would have stopped focusing on her as a suspect and Britt might not have had to die the way she did.
Trina Explains Her Choice to Taggert
After Greenland, Trina had a newfound closeness with Curtis. And while she assured Taggert that he’d always be her father, she needed to end the questions and had decided to take a DNA test to find out who her biological father was. Taggert understood, but was later crushed when it was revealed that Curtis was Trina’s father. Trina made it clear to Curtis she already had a father in Marcus, but Stella and Marshall still welcomed her into their family and she didn’t push them away.
Sasha Faces Her Fears
Maxie convinced Sasha to face her fears and return to Home & Heart television to showcase Decpetions’ new product, The Deceptor. Hoping to score big in the ratings again, the host Olivia de Haviland had her assistant feed the sound of a baby crying into Sasha’s earpiece, causing her to begin to lose it. However, Cody arrived and threatened to streak if the assistant and producer didn’t cut the sound, which they did. After successfully finishing the show, Sasha realized she was ready to be on her own and didn’t need Gladys as a guardian anymore. She also mended her broken friendship with Cody, who Gladys maintained stole her bracelet.
Holly and Robert Aren’t Meant to Be
After the events in Greenland, Holly and Robert accepted that while they loved one another, it wasn’t enough, and they weren’t meant to be. Holly had to go help Ethan by raising money to pay back his debts to his enemies, and the means by which to do so weren’t legal and she couldn’t drag Robert into it. Holly left town, but her presence had a lasting effect on Robert. Diane, who had been growing closer to Robert, ended anything between them as she felt she’d always come second to Robert’s exes Anna and Holly.
Molly and TJ’s Plans are Derailed
When Molly had a pregnancy scare, it made her and TJ realize they both wanted to be parents. However, when they had issues conceiving, and Molly began to have abdominal pains, she revealed she had endometriosis, but didn’t think it was that bad. Upon going to a doctor, she was devasted to learn not only could she not carry a child to term, but her eggs were not viable. After dealing with the shocking news, Molly and TJ considered exploring surrogacy.
Curtis Moves Back Home… Sort Of
After learning he was Trina’s biological father, and with pushing from Jordan to fight for his marriage, Curtis moved back home. However, he wasn’t ready to share a bed with Portia yet and moved into the guest bedroom. Portia was still given hope that they could reconcilse.
Victor’s Will is Read
Many gathered for the reading of Victor’s Will, in which he left his enemies many peculiar items. To Nikolas, he left a family estate in Chechnya and standing in for her son at the reading, Laura believed that’s where Nikolas could be hiding. Valentin agreed to go with Laura to Chechnya and search for her son, along with Kevin. To Spencer, he left a safe deposit box key. Spencer, along with Trina, learned the safe deposit box contained proof of Esme’s crimes, but Spencer quickly realized Victor had manufactured it all. Trina convinced him to destroy the fake evidence, but Spencer chose to hold onto it in secret. To Anna, he left the truth. Soon The Sun printed an article on her years as a double agent with the DVX, and she was forced out of the WSB and disgraced.
Esme Gets a Job
As a favor to Laura, Alexis gave Esme a job as a secretary. However, on her first day she made a blunder and forwarded a confidential email to a mailing list. Gregory managed to save the day, and Esme’s hide. In time Esme proved herself to be a valuable worker and assett to Alexis, and even got a raise.
Ned Learns Nina’s Secret
Nina was riding on several highs. Things were improving between her and Willow, and Sonny proposed and she accepted. Unfortunately during a discussion at the Metro Court with Martin about turning Carly and Drew into the SEC, Ned overheard them and realized Nina was the rat. That’s what happens when you discuss your biggest secrets in public! He raced up to the pool to tell Drew, but tripped, fell into the pool, and hit his head. He was rushed to the hospital and when he came to, he recognized none of his friends or family members and insisted his name was Eddie Maine. Yes, Ned had devolved into her old Rock’n’Roll persona.
Carly Scolds Michael for Trying to Take Down Sonny
Dex was furious when Michael informed him that he wouldn’t be going after his father anymore, which left him in a bind. He couldn’t just quit working for Sonny, things didn’t work that way in Sonny’s world. Michael suggested his only option was to flee town and he’d help him hide from Sonny, but that would mean Dex would have to say goodbye to Joss forever. Joss, who along with Carly learned of Michael’s plan and the evidence, wanted Dex to use it against Sonny. Dex said Michael had the only copy. When Michae gave it to his mother, Joss suggested her mother use it to save herself from the Feds. Carly made it clear if Sonny was arrested then they’d be sitting ducks for all his enemies, so she destroyed the drive.
Dex Has a Choice to Make
Eventually, Carly came up with a plan to have Dex continue working for Sonny, but reporting to Michael on anything that might bring danger to Sonny, and they would then see to it that Sonny was protected. Joss hated the idea of Dex continuing to work for Sonny, but Dex had come to respect Sonny and admitted there wasn’t much work for a guy like him in the world, and he was good at his job. Sonny, who also learned of Joss and Dex’s relationship, said he’d not police them and leave that to Carly.
Gladys Schemes Against Sasha
Gladys tried to convince Sonny, and Sasha, that Sasha was not ready to be on her own, but both Sonny and Sasha felt she was. Sasha moved forward to having her guardianship dissolved and had to be evaluated by a court-appointed psychiatrist as part of the process. When Gladys learned her psychiatrist was Dr. Montague, who she knew from Selina’s games, she recruited his help in tanking Sasha’s chances.
Jordan’s One Night Stand Causes Big Problems
Drowning her sorrows at the Metro Court pool bar while trying to finally put Curtis behind her, Jordan met Zeke. She confided in him she had made a mistake and kissed her ex, and one thing led to another and they ended up in bed. Later Jordan was stunned to learn Zeke was Portia’s brother, and asked him not to tell her what she confessed about Curtis.
Mason Returns to Make Life Hell for Ava and Austin
It had been months since Austin or Ava heard from Mason since he claimed to have Nikolas’ body, and Ava though she was in the clear. Unfortunately, she wasn’t. He returned and demanded they help him dig up dirt on Sonny and Pikeman in exchange for returning Nikolas’ body. Austin warned Ava that Mason’s boss was nobody to be triffled with, and her best bet was to do what Mason wanted her to do.
Drew Goes to Jail
In an attempt to save Carly, Drew and his lawyer Zeke worked out a plea deal in which he would plead guilty and serve six months in Spring Ridge. However at the trial, the judge decided to make an example of people like Drew, who felt they were above the law because of their heroic backgrounds, and sentenced him to three years in Pentonville. He had one week to get his affairs in order before reporting to prison.
Zeke Tattles on Jordan and Curtis
Zeke could no longer lie to his sister and told Portia that Curtis and Jordan had kissed. Jordan admitted it was a mistake, and that Curtis begged her to keep it a secret. This created further strife between Curtis and Portia, as well as Curtis and Trina, who was disappointed in him for betraying her mother.
Laura Makes Jordan an Offer
Needing a new Deputy Mayor, and one she could trust while she traveled to Europe to search for her son, she asked Jordan to consider taking the job. Jordan gave it a lot of thought, and after all the drama involving Curtis, Zeke and Portia, decided to give it a a go on a trial basis.
Anna’s House Gets Tagged
After her past was exposed, Anna was alarmed to find the word “Murderer” spray painted on her door. Valentin felt he should not go with Laura to Chechnya, but Anna insisted Laura needed his help and this was nothing more than a prank by some kids. It was the first of many disturbing incidents to come.
Violet Plays Matchmaker
Liz was eventually named Head Nurse at General Hospital. Violet, determined to see her father happy, arranged for a surprise date for Liz and Finn. They had grown estranged after the revelation as to what happened to Finn’s late wife Reiko but began to grow closer again thanks to the little girl’s pushing. Eventually they began dating again, become the viewers least favorite couple and earning the nickname Fizzle by some because they were so boring together.
Trina Has Issues with Esme Living with Spencer
Trina admitted to her mother that she hated that Esme was living in Spencer’s home. Portia continued to try and split Trina and Spencer up, even suggesting Esme and Spencer take parenting classes together. The class helped Spencer and Esme come together for Ace’s sake. After Spencer picked another fight with Dex, and got his butt kicked, Esme brought him an ice pack later that evening. She questioned Spencer about their past, and as he opened up to her, she believed on some level the old Esme actually cared for Spencer.
Tracy Collects What She’s Owed
Tracy collected on Brook Lynn’s debt and ordered her to spy on Lucy and Decpetion and get her as much information as she could on The Deceptor. Brook Lynn was confused, but Tracy threatened to tell Chase how he really got his job back if she didn’t. Brook Lynn got Tracy what she needed, and Tracy was revealed to be working with someone to take down Lucy and Deception for stealing the idea of The Deceptor.
Austin and Ava End Up in Bed, After She Slaps Him
In order to give Mason what he wanted, Austin arranged for it to look like Avery’s nanny Pilar was careless and lost the girl at the park, thereby pushing Ava to demand she be replaced. When Ava learned Austin had set the whole incident up, scarring her into thinking Avery was really in danger, she slapped him. Her anger turned to passion, and they made love. Austin convinced her they needed to keep complying with Mason’s orders, and he wanted a specific nanny hired to spy on Sonny.
Willow’s Bubble of Trust
Willow was finally cleared to go home, but had to stay remanded in the gatehouse for the time being, and could only have a small number of visitors to protect her fragile immune system. Michael was stunned when Willow wanted to put Nina on the list of approved visitors, but supported her choice even if he didn’t agree that Nina had changed.
Mac and Dante Deliver Good News to Cody
Sick of the fighting between Gladys and Cody, Ms. Wu ordered Gladys to retract her statement that Cody stole the bracelet and arranged for a waiter to come forward claiming he found the bracelet the night of the ball, which had fallen off Gladys’s wrist due to a fault clasp, and put it in Cody’s tux jacket while he was performing with The Magic Wands as he assumed it was his. She also ordered Cody to back off from attacking Gladys. Dante, along with Mac, delivered the good news to Cody that he had been cleared in the theft of the bracelet. Meanwhile, Scott pushed Cody to sign an affidavit that Leopold was his father, saying they could sue the WSB for the loss of the Ice Princess necklace which was rightfully Cody’s.
Kristina Puts Her Foot In Her Mouth
Fans were shocked when both the roles of Kristina and Molly were recast. Not only that but there would be a flurry of recasts of Molly before the show finally found the right actress for the role. During a night out at The Savoy, Kristina told her mother and sister Sam that she had the perfect solution to Molly and TJ’s fertility issues, and she would offer to be their surrogate. Molly overheard this and fumed to TJ about her sister’s solution. Alexis and Sam convinced Kristina not to make this offer to Molly, but Molly already knew about Kristina’s idea and it created a huge riff between them, with Molly thinking Kristina was making this all about Kristina.
Curtis Is Caught in the Crossfire
During the Fourth of July celebration at the Metro Court pool, Anna met with Sonny to deliver a cryptic message to him from Valentin that was about Pikeman. Meanwhile, Portia and Curtis decided to move past their problems and work on their marriage. Suddenly shots rang out, and Curtis was hit. It would be eventually deduced that either Sonny or Anna was the target, the gunman had used an untraceable gun stolen from a WSB stash, and Curtis was hit by a ricochet bullet.
Curtis is Paralyzed
Curtis barely made it through surgery to remove the bullet fragments, which hit his spine. When he finally woke up, he realized he couldn’t feel his legs. Portia eventually had to break the news to him that he was paralyzed from the waist down, and it might be permanent. Curtis began to push his family away, and refused to see Portia or Trina. He even asked Portia for an annulment, which she refused to give him.
Jackson, Jackson Montgomery
When Martin became adamant that Lucy not give him any credit for helping her create The Deceptor, which came about one night during some pillow talk, Lucy became suspicious. She further had doubts about Martin when he refused to marry her, claiming that his three marriages had turned him off the institution. Lucy turned to Felicia for help, and they learned Martin was receiving $50,000 a month from a bank in Pine Valley. They traveled there and met Jackson Montgomery, who was an old acquaintance of Martin’s. Lucy tried to stall him while on a date as Felicia broke into his office to try and find information on Martin. She found a file labeled “Maquillage,” but they were quickly busted by Jackson. He was ready to have them arrested, but Lucy got an idea and contacted Jackson’s old friend Anna, who convinced him not to press charges. Anna later told Lucy the $50,000 was likely alimony payments, and if Martin remarried, he’d have to give them up.
Brook Lynn Confesses to Chase
Brook Lynn, feeling guilty about stealing from her friends at Decption, finally confessed all to Chase, including how Tracy helped him get his job back. Chase stood by Brook Lynn and did not end things, seeing this as proof she had changed, and they agreed they would not keep anything from the other moving forward. Later telling Tracy she was done doing her dirty work, Tracy further blackmailed her by saying she had committed corporate espionage which was a crime.
Gladys’ Scheme Causes Sasha to Crack
Working with Dr. Montague to prove Sasha was unfit to end her guardianship, Dr. Montague prescribed additional medication to Sasha which he claimed was safe, but interfered with her other medications. This caused Sasha to act erratically, which her friends started noticing. One day at the Metro Court, Sasha saw Cody and Gladys arguing about what Gladys was doing to Sasha. She hallucinated that Cody was Cyrus and stabbed him. Cody was rushed to the hospital and survived, but Sasha was remanded to Ferncliff by Dr. Montague.
What Happened to Taggert?
Jordan had suggested Taggert apply to become commissioner while she was working as Deputy Mayor for Laura. However as Trina began to bond with Curtis, Taggert turned to alcohol to ease his pains. And just like that Taggert disappeared from the canvas and hasn’t been seen since July of 2023.
Sam the Mediator
Molly and Kristina remained estranged after Kristina’s idea of being Molly’s surrogate. Sam played the role of mediator and made them realize they were lucky to have one another, and their mother Alexis would give anything to have her sister alive and in her life again. Molly admitted she was jealous that Kristina could have a baby when she couldn’t, and Kristina admitted she may have spoken before thinking and wanted to fix things. The two put their fighting behind them, and Molly and TJ moved forward and found a surrogate named Andrea to carry their child.
Enter Betty the Nanny From Hell
Mason ordered Ava to hire a woman named Betty as Avery’s new nanny. Knowing Sonny would never agree, Ava finally admitted everything to Sonny, that she had killed Nikolas to protect Avery, Austin’s cousin Mason had stolen his body, and he was blackmailing them both to do his bidding and get information on Sonny and Pikeman. Sonny hired Betty, but planned to use her to out the identify of the enemy who was after him.
Carly Takes Over Kelly’s
Bobbie had to leave Port Charles and go to Amsterdam to sort through Luke’s affairs. The storyline was crafted to explain Jacklyn Zeman’s absence, as she had tragically died due to cancer. Given Carly’s financial issues, Bobbie sold Kelly’s to her daughter for one dollar. Carly intended to make Kelly’s, an institution in their family going back to her Aunt Ruby, a success. She also vowed she’d get back everything she’d lost, including The Metro Court.
Sasha’s Living Hell Begins
Cody confided in Dante that he believed Gladys was behind Sasha’s mental relapse. He shared his theory that Gladys needed to stay Sasha’s guardian as she was using Sasha’s money to pay her debts off to Selina and admitted he had been working for Selina in fleecing her poker players, one of whom was Gladys. Meanwhile, Sasha woke up in Ferncliff where Gladys tried to convince her she had not been getting better but hallucinated it all. Sasha quickly deduced she had been better and things took a turn when she met Dr. Montague. Montague began drugging Sasha regularly and convinced everyone that Sasha was back on drugs and someone inside Ferncliff was providing them to her.
Cyrus is in Drew’s Debt
In Pentonville, Cyrus continued to be targeted by Book, until Drew stepped in and saved him from the bully’s torment. He warned Book he was under the protection of Sonny Corinthos, and not to mess with Cyrus from there on out. Cyrus vowed to pay Drew back for his kindness.
Cyrus Goes to Hell
When Book again messed with Cyrus, the ponytailed bad dude had a heart attack. Drew was able to save his life, but not before Cyrus took a little trip to hell. There he found himself in a small cell and taunted by Laura, who said this cell was of his making. When Cyrus regained conscience, he had a renewed purpose in life, and again owed Drew a debt. As part of his newfound sense of being, Cyrus cut off his trademark ponytail and shaved the scruff off his face.
Laura and Kevin’s Search For Nikolas Comes Up Empty
Laura’s search for Nikolas at the estate in Chechnya proved a bust. After the shooting at the Metro Court, Valentin rushed home to Anna, while Laura and Kevin headed to Cassadine Island. That too turned up no sign of Nikolas.
Kristina Grows Up
Sonny surprised Kristina months earlier by agreeing to help fund her idea for a house that would support displaced LGBTQIA+ youths. She eventually named the house the Corinthos-Davis Center, and later asked Michael to be on the board, along with Dr. Terry Randolph. Even Alexis was impressed by how Kristina had taken charge of this project. Nina told Kristina how proud she was of her, as was her father, and Kristina returned the support and said she saw how happy Nina made her father and she supported their upcoming wedding.
Anna Grows Suspicious of Valentin
Anna recalled after being debriefed in Greenland by the WSB, there was a folder on Pikeman in the WSB agent’s office. She began to realize the WSB and Pikemen were intertwined and may have something to do with the shooting at the Metro Court. She also became convinced, and shared her suspicion with Sonny, that he was the real target that night. When she questioned Valentin about the association and the message he had her deliver to Sonny the night of the shooting, he avoided her questions as best as he could.
Anna and Valentin’s Estrangement Grows
While out for a jog one night, Anna’s home was burned down. She was forced to move into the Metro Court. Things became more complicated when Dante discovered Valentin’s alibi for the night, that there was a water main break at ELQ that had to be dealt with, was a lie. Anna began to realize Valentin was keeping secrets from her, and soon confirmed he was involved with Pikeman. He explained he brokered a deal between them and Sonny, and that was all. However in the past he had been more heavily involved with the organization.
Cody Sneaks In to See Sasha and is Horrified
Cody refused to press charges against Sasha for attacking him, and later snuck into Ferncliff to see Sasha. She again hallucinated he was Cyrus, but he talked her down. He could see her condition was rapidly deteriorating. When Glady later learned of his visit, she put him and others on the ban list from seeing Sasha. Dr. Montague meanwhile continued to drug Sasha.
Gregory Comes Clean with Finn
As Finn and Liz continued to grow closer, Gregory offered to babysit Violet one night so they could go out. However, Gregory became unsteady and fell in front of the little girl. When Finn questioned his dad, Gregory could no longer lie to his son and revealed his ALS diagnosis. Finn was devastated, and Gregory asked him not to tell Chase as he couldn’t bear breaking his younger son’s spirit.
Curtis Receives an Offer
Curtis entered rehab and with some pushing from Marshall and Stella, fought to learn how to deal with his new reality. Selina paid him a visit and offered to buy The Savoy, but Marshall refused to let his son part with the club. He vowed to run it until Curtis could take it back over, and his first order of business was to shut down Selina’s poker games, making an enemy of Ms. Wu.
Sonny Sets a Trap
Sonny set a trap for Betty, who downloaded documents on Pikeman from his computer. She had no idea Sonny had falsified them. Betty then delivered the information to Austin, telling him it was no his job to deliver this to the big boss.
Eddie Opens Up to Olivia
Tracy had grown frustrated with “Eddie” and pushed Olivia to commit her husband and get him the treatment he needed. Kevin believed it was best that “Eddie” play this thing out, and Olivia heeded his advice and refused to commit her husband. When “Eddie” overheard Olivia standing up for him, he and Olivia began to grow closer. “Eddie” even shared a song he had been working on about a siren singing in the distance, her voice was familiar, but he couldn’t see her. However he was having trouble finishing the song.
Cyrus is the Big Bad
Austin delivered the flash drive to Cyrus in Pentonville, revealing to the audience that Cryus was in fact Mason and Austin’s boss. Cyrus had known Austin since he was a child, befriending his mother during a particularly hard time in her marriage. He became an Uncle figure, later putting Austin through medical school, but then feeling Austin was forever in his debt. Austin made it clear he was done working for Cyrus and Mason. Viewers were disappointed in this complete rewrite, as for months the big boss was said to be a female. This storyline change appeared to be one of many that was a casualty of the writer’s strike of 2023.
Gladys Realizes the Damage She’s Done
Paying Sasha a visit, Gladys was horrified to see how strung out Sasha was. She demanded Montague release her, but he refused unless Gladys forked over $50,000. Because a lawsuit had been filed against Deception over The Deceptor, Sasha’s assets were frozen. Gladys turned to Nina for help, revealing she had a gambling problem, and Sasha’s doctor had taken advantage of that to extort her. Nina agreed to wire the money to the doctor, and Gladys begged her not to tell Sonny what happened as he’d kill her.
Felicia’s New Calling
Felicia wanted to contribute back to Port Charles in some way. When she admitted this to Mac, he encouraged her to look into working at General Hospital. When Felicia saw Stella working as a patient advocate, she decided that was her new calling and trained to become one under Stella’s supervision. The audience yawned at this storyline, which was wasted on a legacy character such as Felicia.
Nikolas is Alive and Well
As Ava decided to sell Spoon Island, turning to Lucy for help, Austin headed to his cabin in Pautuck where Nikolas was alive and well. Nikolas had finally come out of his coma and believed he owed everything to Austin for saving his life. Austin pushed him to reveal he was alive to his family, but he refused to do that, instead planned to head to Europe and bide his time planning his next moves. Spencer was about to become the Cassadine heir as he would be considered legally dead after six months, so proving he was alive was the first item on his agenda. He thanked Austin for all he had done to help him, seemingly not knowing how close Austin had grown to Ava.
Maxie Makes a Move
Realizing her small apartment was too much for three children, Maxie began looking for a new place to live. Sam realized Dante and Lulu’s old house would be perfect for them, and convinced Dante to rent it to her. Maxie had reservations about moving into her best friend’s former house, but eventually took advantage of the offer. James and Georgie loved their new place and the fact they had their own rooms. Lulu remained in a coma, but had been moved from the facility in upstate New York to General Hospital.
Tracy Scores a Big Win
Lucy had learned she and Decpetion were being sued by a mysterious party for stealing the idea of The Deceptor. Deception had its day in court, to determine if there was enough evidence to move the accusations forward to a trial. Tracy revealed she was the party suing, and she had hired Jackson Montgomery as her lawyer. He proved there was ample evidence to move forward, and Lucy and Maxie soon deduced Brook Lynn had provided Tracy with the evidence for the lawsuit. Brook Lynn tried to explain she was being blackmailed by her grandmother, but was promptly fired and unfriended.
Brook Lynn Relocates
Furious with Tracy for costing her her job and her friends, Brook Lynn moved out of the Quartermaine mansion and accepted Chase’s invite to move in with him.
Carly Hires Diane
Diane revealed to Carly that she had reason to believe the judge who sentenced Drew harshly may have been under pressure by the WSB. They had a long-standing theory that the SEC charges were not really about insider trading, but in forcing Carly to turn evidence against Sonny. Carly refused to make any deals, and hired Diane to try and find a way to prove the judge’s sentence was predjucided.
Sonny’s Busted
During a family dinner at The Metro Court, the feds arrived to arrest Sonny for shipping weapons and violating the National Securities Act. Thanks to a tip from Carly about the feds on the pier, Dex, who was overseeing the latest Pikeman shipment, was able to escape arrest.
Cody and Sasha Escape
With Sam’s help, Cody got himself committed to Ferncliff for having dangerous and suicidal thoughts. Yes it was a completely ridiculous plot point, but viewers accepted it as they were desperate to see Sasha’s torture come to an end. When he realized Dr. Montague, a fellow poker player in Selina’s games, was Sasha’s doctor, he figured out Gladys had enlisted him. He and Sasha escaped Ferncliff, after Cody attacked and subdued Montague.
Curtis Returns Home
Fresh out of rehab, Curtis returned home to try and make things work with Portia and the rest of his family. However, he had to quickly lay down the rules that he did not want to be walked around on eggshells and wanted to be treated no differently. Portia and Curtis slowly began to find their way back together and repair their marriage
Eddie, Leo and Olivia Bond
Sonny arranged to have “Eddie” meet with a producer to record a demo of his siren song. Leo and Olivia tagged along and were impressed by the process, which drew them all closer.
Anna’s Targeted Again
Anna, still suspicious of Valentin’s connections with Pikeman, found her Metro Court room had been ransacked. All her new clothes had been destroyed, and a message in red paint was found on the bathroom mirror stating Anna thought she got away with it but was still not safe. Valentin later went to Nina for help in accessing security footage and they were both horrified to see it was Charlotte who broke into the room. Valentin had Nina delete the footage until he could figure out how to deal with this new information.
Tracy’s Secret Partner
Blair Cramer arrived in Port Charles and was revealed to be Tracy’s partner in the lawsuit against Deception, and Martin’s third ex-wife. She had come up with the original idea of The Deceptor, but never actually followed through with it. She knew Martin had given the idea to Lucy, who made it a reality. She told Martin if he didn’t want her to tell Lucy the truth, he needed to marry her and free her from paying him monthly alimony, which was due to her cheating on Martin during their marriage. This was yet another one of these quickly wrapped-up plots by the scab writers during the strike that went nowhere and was never revisited. Martin has yet to propose, and Blair was never seen again.
Lucy Accepts Tracy’s Deal
Tracy offered to drop the lawsuit against Deception for 51 percent ownership of the company, and if Lucy returned her one percent ELQ voting share. Lucy initially refused, but finally succumbed when Maxie convinced her 49 percent ownership was better than nothing, and the company could not survive and long and drawn out lawsuit and trial.
Sonny Goes Free
Sonny had his day in court for trading arms. However the federal prosecutors ended up with egg on their face when it was revealed the crates marked Pikeman they confiscated, but never bothered to open, turned out to have grade A premium coffee inside. They were forced to drop the charges, and Sonny was set free.
Cyrus’s Revenge Plot Fails
Having deduced that Cyrus was Austin and Mason’s boss, Sonny realized it was his old enemy who had been moving against him. Cyrus had turned the evidence from Austin, via Betty, over to the warden of Pentonville who was hoping to use it to boost her career, while Cyrus also hoped to score points with the system. The plan was a complete failure, leaving Cyrus furious. It was revealed Cyrus had been jealous that he was in jail and ostracized by his sister who adored Sonny, who he saw as no better than himself. Viewers were left baffled at this latest turn of events in this long and messy story that felt like it was being rewritten on a weekly basis.
Sasha and Cody Hide Out
With Sam’s help, Cody and Sasha made their way to a cabin to hide out in. Sasha went through withdrawals from Montague’s drugs, and with Sam and Dante’s help, Cody convinced her that Gladys had been working against her for months to keep control of her finances as she had been deep in debt to Selina. Sasha worked with her friends to figure out how to expose both Gladys and Montague.
Trina and Spencer Make Love
Spencer arranged for him and Trina to take a weekend trip to New York, away from Esme, Portia and all the stresses of Port Charles. There he wined, dined and impressed her with trips to museums. The two finally made love and fully reconnected. However, once they returned to Port Charles, Esme and Ace’s presence in Spencer’s life continued to be an issue for Trina, and Portia continued to try and convince Spencer to let Trina go before he hurt her again.
Drew is Badly Beaten
As Drew grew closer to finding out the proof that it was Cyrus who set Sonny up, suddenly Drew was beaten within an inch of his life in the prison showers, only to be saved by Cyrus. Drew was rushed to General Hospital for care, and temporarily reunited with his loved ones. Carly became more determined to find a way to free Drew.
Gregory Reveals the Truth to Tracy
With Liz’s suggestion, Finn pushed his father to seek alternate opinions regarding his ALS treatment, feeling his current doctor was treating only the symptoms of the disease, but not Gregory as a patient. When Tracy continued to notice Gregory hiding his symptoms during a dinner date with Brook Lynn and Chase, she pushed him and he finally told her that he had ALS, and Chase did not yet know. Tracy felt for him, and agreed to keep his secret.
Gladys Betrays Sasha Again
Sasha returned to Port Charles and confronted Gladys about her devious ways. Gladys swore she loved Sasha, and Sasha told her to prove it by going to the PCPD and confessing everything. Gladys claimed she would, but instead called the cops who arrested Sasha the escaped mental patient and dragged her back to Ferncliff. Nina meanwhile finally went to Sonny and filled him in on Gladys’ lies.
Charlotte’s Secrets
Trying to get through to Charlotte, Valentin revealed he had bought them an actual house to move into. However, Charlotte reeled when she overheard Valentin talking to Anna saying he bought the house for all of them to be a family. It was revealed that while in boarding school, Victor had sent Charlotte a deck of tarot cards which he called powerful tools, and a letter warning her that Anna was dangerous. Victor claimed Anna had bewitched her father, and she needed to protect him from Anna.
Molly and Kristina Share Their Good News
Molly and TJ had settled on a surrogate named Andrea to carry their child and revealed to their family that Andrea had successfully gotten pregnant.
Harmony Haunts Willow
Willow, who had returned to working as a nurse at GH and was getting along with Nina, suddenly began being haunted by Harmony. Harmony was trying to warn her of something, but Obrecht convinced her it was her mind trying to protect her from her own fears that her cancer would return. She told Willow to pay no attention to Harmony.
Laura and Kevin’s Search for Nikolas Comes to an End
Laura and Kevin ended up in Geneva where they learned Nikolas had made several in-person withdrawals from his private bank account. Kevin convinced Laura that her son didn’t want to be found, and it was up to Nikolas to decide when or if he’d ever return to Port Charles. They returned home, and Ava was dumbfounded when Laura informed her that Nikolas was alive.
Cyrus Goes Free with Austin’s Help
Cyrus ordered Mason to abduct Ava, and then forced Austin to testify at his upcoming hardship hearing that his heart attack had left him in such a weakened condition that he was a danger to no one. The warden, looking to leave Pentonville and move up in ranks, testified that Cyrus was a man of God and had brought great changes to the prison. Cyrus also made arrangements to have his fortune donated to a foundation to help prisoners learn skills to help them once released, further scoring him points. Cyrus also had judicial connections, and everything helped sway the system in his favor and he was released on parole.
Mason Goes Rogue
After doing what Cyrus asked, Austin begged Cyrus to release Ava. Cyrus called Mason and ordered him to take Ava home, but Mason disobeyed and planned to kill Ava. He drove her to the cliff tops and planned to throw her over, but Dex, Joss and Dante managed to track them down. Dante shot Mason in the back, saving Ava’s life, but Mason survived the shooting. He was taken to General Hospital, where he remained in custody as he recovered.
Gladys Gets What’s Coming to Her
Dante and Cody managed to rescue Sasha from Montague in Ferncliff, just as he was about to administer a lethal overdose to her and flee for his own safety. Meanwhile, before she could flee town, Sam and Sonny stopped Gladys. Sonny ordered Gladys to return to Massachusetts, to never gamble again, and if she left her home town for any reason he’d make sure the next trip she took would leave her six feet under.
Chase Learns His Father is Dying
When Chase ended up in the hospital after an incident involving pepper spray, Tracy saw him with what appeared to be tears in his eyes and immediately assumed something happened to Gregory. Confused, Chase pressed her, and Tracy was forced to reveal Gregory had ALS. Chase was devastated to learn Finn had been told weeks ago, and he was left in the dark. Gregory finally explained to Chase he was about to tell him the truth, but it was the same day Brook Lynn had moved in with him and they were so happy. In actuality, Gregory admitted he was afraid to tell Chase, as then he’d have to face the fact this was really happening to him. Chase, and Finn, promised to support their father through his fight.
Sonny and Nina Marry, and Michael Learns the Truth
Sonny and Nina decided to elope in Puerto Rico, with Kristina, Michael, Willow and their kids in attendance. Michael finally seemed to put his animosity towards Nina aside and welcomed her into the family. However that all changed when his contact at the SEC confirmed it was Nina who turned Carly and Drew in. Michael claimed a business emergency had called him back to the states early, and even Sonny and Nina cut their honeymoon short when they learned of Ava’s kidnapping.
Sasha Makes Plans to Relocate
After her ordeal with Gladys, and Ferncliff, was over, Sasha felt it was best to start over and planned to move to Texas. Cody and Maxie tried their best to convince her to stay, but she seemed determined to make this move. In attempting to convince her they all make mistakes, Cody disclosed he lied about being Mac’s son. Initially, his reasoning was to get ahold of Leopold’s priceless necklace, but he gave that lawsuit up months ago. The reality he had to face was that he felt unworthy to be Mac’s son given his past.
Valentin Goes to Laura for Help
Valentin went to Laura for help regarding Charlotte, confiding in her that he believed she was the one targeting Anna. They both deduced Victor had somehow gotten to Charlotte and convinced her that Anna was a threat. They teamed up determined to get her the help she needed, which included session with Kevin. Kevin quickly deduced Charlotte was a guarded little girl with many secrets, and has mastered the art of only letting those close to her see what she wanted them to.
Alexis Goes to Battle for Drew
After Carly got a tip from a loyal Kelly’s customer about Judge Kim’s fancy trips with a millionaire friend, Alexis and Gregory looked into the judge who sentenced Drew to three years in Pentonville. They discovered not only had he not been upfront about trips he’d taken with this millionaire, which meant he likely didn’t disclose them on his taxes but he also had a history of rulings to impress higher courts to work his way up the judicial ladder. Alexis lured Judge Kim into an interview about his outstanding record, only to confront him with what she and Gregory discovered. She told him to rethink Drew’s sentence, or she’d have to publish what she knew about him in the paper, tanking his career.
Diane Lets Robert Out of the Doghouse
After avoiding Robert for months, Diane finally had an honest conversation with him about their relationship and feelings for one another. She agreed to give him another chance but made it clear any more missteps on his part, and if she felt she was not being made a priority, and it would be over and no third chances granted.
Michael Controls Nina’s Every Move
Michael finally let Nina know that he knew she turned his mother and Drew into the SEC. He agreed not to reveal her secret, realizing it would devastate his father and Willow, but set limits on her contact with his family. She was not to see Willow, or their children, without his approval. He also told her to sell her half of The Metro Court back to his mother.
TJ Wants Revenge
As Mason remained in the hospital recovering from his gunshot, TJ eventually realized Mason was the one who kept him hostage years back, and went to his mother. Unfortunately Jordan told him there was no way to prove this, but Mason would go to jail for kidnapping Ava. That wasn’t much solace to TJ, who felt he wasn’t getting the justice he deserved.
Austin Tries to Take Out Mason
Mason taunted Austin that he would not be going to jail, and instead planned to make a deal with the PCPD and name Austin as the criminal mastermind behind Ava’s kidnapping. He gloated the cops would eat his story up, as he was too stupid to be the ringleader, and he said he’d tell them Austin had been trying to exploit Ava for money over Nikolas’ death, but his plan went south, so he ordered her kidnapping. Having had enough, Austin began to smother Mason with a pillow but was spotted by TJ, who stopped him from snuffing out his cousin.
Esme Admits Her Feelings and Intentions to Laura
Esme shocked Laura with her plans to move out with Ace and find a place of her own. Laura feared how Spencer would take this news, and when she pushed Esme, Esme admitted she had begun to develop feelings for Spencer. She felt this was the best option for her and Esme, and Laura supported her. When Spencer learned Emse wanted to move out, and Laura was onboard, Spencer was crushed.
Sasha Surprises Cody
Sasha visited Cody at the stables and revealed she had changed her mind and was staying in Port Charles. Cody was elated, and as they talked about learning from mistakes, they discussed how he had previously disclosed to her that he was Mac’s son. Sasha continued to keep his secret, but felt he should consider telling Mac the truth.
Lois Returns!
After a thirty-year absence, Rena Sofer returned to General Hospital as Brook Lynn’s mother, and Ned’s ex-wife, Lois Cerullo. She came back after learning of the Deception drama and Brook Lynn’s firing but stayed to support her daughter in her quest to make things right with her friends. Plus she loved sticking it to Tracy!
Cyrus Annoys Everyone
Once out of Pentonville, Cyrus began making the rounds to apologize to everyone he had wronged like Portia, Trina, Jordan, Laura and others, and hoped they’d forgive him. He was in for a rude awakening when nobody wanted anything to do with him, let along grant him forgiveness. In time though, Martin and Laura greed that they hoped Cyrus could prove to them that he was a changed man.
Drew and Carly are Reunited
On Halloween, Carly was surprised when Drew turned up at Kelly’s, a free man. He had no idea why he was released, so Carly filled him in on how she and Alexis worked to prove Judge Kim had harshly sentenced him for his own career aspirations. Drew wasted no time in getting back to work at Aurora, and conspiring with Michael to take control of ELQ.
Anna Shoots Charlotte
Anna moved into Maxie’s old apartment, feeling Valentin needed to reconnect with Charlotte in their new house. Anna soon began to suspect a former WSB agent, Jamison Forsythe, may have been the one stalking her. She recalled she had an old file on him in a trunk she stored away for safekeeping on a botched op he was involved in years ago and the WSB covered up. With her making the news recently, she thought Jamison had come back to make sure she couldn’t turn on him. On Halloween night, Charlotte put her next move to terrorize Anna into play and broke into her apartment to vandalize it. However Anna returned home to find her door unlocked, and saw a figure hovering over her trunk of documents. Charlotte was wearing a cloak, and had a flashlight which appeared to be a gun to Anna in the dark, and Anna shot her. Valentin and Jake, Charlotte’s new boyfriend, arrived moments later and Anna was devastated to learn she had shot Charlotte.
Tracy Leaves Town, But Not Before Dropping Some Bombs
Tracy had to head to Amsterdam to help Bobbie deal with Luke’s messy affairs. Before leaving she emplored Olivia to commit “Eddie.” She also told Brook Lynn she stole Deception so she would have a career to tall back on when her newfound career as a music producer career. Brook Lynn had already signed Blaze as her first client and turned down Tracy’s offer. However Lois made her consider it, and the two later conspired to out maneuver Tracy and turn the company back over to Lucy, Maxie and Sasha.
The Return of Ned
After Lois showed up, “Eddie” appeared to recognize her face, but couldn’t place it. She told him about their past together, though he didn’t remember it. When he opened up to her about his troubles finishing his siren song, she told him he had to dive in and take a leap of faith. “Eddie” went to the lake house, and taking Lois’ words literally, dove into the lake after hearing the siren calling to him. He got caught in some vines, and fortunately, Olivia saved him in the nick of time. When she dragged him ashore and performed CPR on him, “Eddie” woke up and was Ned again. Ned realized the siren in his song was Olivia the entire time.
Charlotte and Valentin Make Confessions
Charlotte made it through surgery after being shot and was expected to fully recover. After Dante found spray paint in Charlotte’s backpack left at the scene of the crime that connected her to the warnings left on Anna’s door and Metro Court suite, Valentin confessed to Anna that Charlotte had been stalking her, and he was trying to protect his daughter. Anna was livid that his lies led to her shooting a child, and delivered a slap across his face that likely could be heard from the other side of the planet. Meanwhile, Charlotte confided in Laura about Victor’s letter, and that Anna was a danger to her papa. Laura tried to convince her that wasn’t the case, but Charlotte was genuinely terrified of Anna and even believed she shot her on purpose.
Austin Attempts to Do the Right Thing
Cyrus was furious with Mason for disobeying his orders regarding Ava, and forced him to confess to the police that he acted on his own in kidnapping her. In return, he promised to broker a deal that would get him a reduced sentence. However, Dante remained convinced Austin was somehow involved. When Ava learned from Sonny that Austin and Mason worked for Cyrus, and Austin likely had known Nikolas was alive the entire time, Ava read Austin for filth for the hell he had put her through. Austin went to Dante and offered to name his boss, if he was granted immunity. He claimed he had the proof Dante needed and would go retrieve it.
Who Killed Austin?
Austin returned to his home in Pautuck shortly before Thanksgiving to get the evidence he needed against Cyrus. When he arrived he was stunned to find someone waiting for him there. The person shot him in the chest and left Austin for dead. It would be a few weeks before Austin’s body was discovered and the case is still an ongoing investigation with few suspects in his murder.
Ned Remembers Nina’s Secret
Ned soon recalled the events that led up to his accident at the pool, and his months believing he was “Eddie.” He confided in Olivia that it was Nina who turned Carly and Drew in to the SEC. Surprisingly, Oliva asked him not to reveal this as everyone had moved on and was getting along, but Ned said at some point he would have to clear his name.
Nina Makes an Offer
Following through with Michael’s demands, Nina made an offer to sell the Metro Court back to Carly. However, she refused. Not only didn’t she have the money to buy it back, but she was happy running Kelly’s. Later though Carly privately vowed one day to get her hotel back.
The New Male Face of Deception Is…
Sasha, Maxie and Lucy returned to the Home & Heart channel to relaunch The Deceptor after the lawsuit was settled. Sasha pulled Cody into the sales pitch to showcase how even men could benefit from the product. Their chemistry was magic, and Maxie declared Cody as the new male face of Deception. Sasha was reluctant to work with Cody on future shoots and admitted to Maxie that she had feelings for him, which Cody overheard. He admitted his feelings to her, but Sasha claimed she wasn’t ready to move on to a new relationship as she was still grieving Brando. They agreed to remain friends, and work together for the good of the company.
More Heartbreak for Molly and TJ
Molly and TJ received heartbreaking news that Andrea had miscarried their baby. Andrea further devastated them by saying she wasn’t willing to try again, as this was hard enough to go through once. While Molly seemed eager to move forward in finding a new surrogate, TJ felt they needed to take time to grieve. They disagreed on the next steps, leading Molly to go behind his back and begin to look for new surrogates. Alexis set Molly straight and told her this was something she and TJ needed to do together. Meanwhile, Jordan advised her son that nothing was guaranteed in life, and not to delay happiness.
Anna and Dante Work to Solve a New Mystery
Once Anna’s apartment was no longer a crime scene, she was shocked to discover all the papers on Jamison Forsythe in her trunk were gone. She and Dante deduced he must have snuck in after Charlotte was taken to General Hospital the night of the shooting and stolen them. Soon Forsythe would turn up dead, run down in the road, but the papers were not on his body. Dante later learned from the medical examiner that a key was found in Jameson’s shoe. Dante traced it to a locker at the local train station, and surmised the docements may be inside, but did not confide this to Anna fearin it could be a trap.
Gloria Drops By for Thanksgiving
Lois’ mother Gloria Cerullo unexpectedly arrived at the Quartermaines for Thanksgiving, and she and Lois were determined to break the Quartermaine curse of the holiday. However, a distracted Gloria left a pot on the stove, which triggered the fire alarm and sprinklers, and ruined the dinner. Lois confronted her mother for such a careless error, and Gloria confided she had come here to hide as she insulted a Russian mobster’s wife, and they were threatening to kill her dog unless she apologized. With Yuri’s help, the mess was straightened out. Gloria returned to Bensonhurst after the holiday, but not before asking Chase when he was going to propose to her granddaughter and make an honest woman out of her.
Finn and GH are Sued
Finn learned he, along with General Hospital, was being sued for malpractice and the wrongful death of one of Finn’s former patients. The patient, Mr. Muldoon, came in with a tapeworm, which Finn treated but Muldoon failed to come in for follow-up tests promptly. When he finally did, Finn discovered he had stage four cancer and by that time there was nothing to be done. The family sued Finn for not catching the cancer early on. Alexis secured Diane as his attorney, but she had to drop Finn as a client because she had long been on retainer by the Muldoons, which was not good news for Finn. Alexis and Gregory convinced Martin to take Finn’s case, but he admitted this was going to be a hard one wo win. Not only was General Hospital likely to throw him under the bus to save themselves, but Finn wasn’t exactly the most likable client to present to a jury.
Emma and Robert Surprise Anna
After Anna ended her relationship with Valentin, she was in no mood for Thanksgiving. Robert brought Emma back to Port Charles to cheer Anna up, and it did the trick. And of course, the audience was delighted to see Emma back, even if only for a short visit.
Curtis Finds His Purpose
Curtis and Portia continued to rebuild their marriage, and Trina and Curtis grew closer. However left with unanswered questions about how this happened to him, Curtis made it his mission to try and find out who the Metro Court shooter was, and Jordan, who had become the permanent Deputy Mayor, agreed to help him.
Chase Propses
Chase surprised Brook Lynn with a proposal, and she assumed he was simply feeling the pressure from her mother and Gloria, who were hopeless romantics when it came to marriage. However he had been planning this for a while and even had a ring, but admitted Lois and Gloria gave him the push to speed up his timetable. Brook Lynn accepted the proposal.
Ava Receives Threatening Notes
Austin’s body was finally discovered, and Dante was pulled into the case. He questioned Ava, who insisted she hadn’t done it. Mason was in the clear as he was still under guard at General Hospital but soon sent to Pentonville. Even Cyrus had an alibi, as he was working late every night in his new job as janitor, dish washer and bus boy at the Metro Court Grill. Ava soon began receiving polaroids of Austin’s body, and notes that read “You’re Welcome” and “Don’t tell anyone!” She quickly began to suspect Nikolas had killed Austin to frame her, but she couldn’t go to the cops as she had no alibi herself for the night Austin died.
Kristina Finds an Unexpected New Romance
Kristina and Blaze had become fast friends, but it soon became apparent that Blaze liked Kristina as more than a friend. When Blaze arrived at Kristina’s with champaign to celebrate recording an amazing new hit song, things got heated quickly when Blaze kissed Kristina, and Kristina returned the kiss. Kristina had no idea Blaze was gay. Blaze admitted she feared coming out not because of her fans’ reaction, but of losing her extremely Catholic family. Kristina opened up about her past, and coming to terms with her sexuality. They both were eager to explore where this may lead. However while out together shopping for Christmas, Kristina was disheartened when Blaze pulled away from her to avoid being spotted holding hands.
Kristina, Molly and TJ Celebrate
After finding an emotional Molly in the park after she spent the afternoon with Willow and Amelia, Molly feared she would never be a mother. Kristina again brought up her offer to be her surrogate, and this time Molly gave the offer some thought. After talking it over with TJ and realizing they were all in a better place than when Kristina first came up with the idea, Molly and TJ accepted Kristina’s offer. Alexis on the other hand, had reservations about learning of her daughter’s plans.
Carly’s Charming New Cusomer
A man named John Brennan quickly became a regular at Kelly’s, and made it clear he was interested in Carly. Carly however let him know she was seeing someone. Unbeknownst to Carly, viewers soon learned Brennan was not only in charge of Pikeman, but he was also the new WSB director. He had sent Forsythe to eliminate Anna and recover the files on the botched op because he was involved in it as well, and couldn’t risk being exposed. However his associate Hume ran Forsythe down before securing the files he had stolen from Anna.
Portia Surprises Curtis
Portia surprised Curtis with the news she had found out about an experimental procedure just entering human trials that could restore his ability to walk, and he was being considered as a candidate. If selected, he’d begin the treatment in the New Year. Curtis was hopeful at the though of walking again. But hey, what happened to the whole “Curtis wants to find out who shot him” storyline?
Spencer Says Goodbye
Trina finally got through to Spencer that he was Ace’s brother, not his father, and he had to let Esme raise her son the way she saw fit. Spencer admitted Trina was right, and his obsession with Ace had been hurting their relationship. Spencer let Esme know he’d support her moving out, and shared a touching goodbye with Ace, promising he’d always be his big brother.
Tracy Returns to Port Charles
As Brook Lynn and Chase made the rounds telling their family of their engagement, Lois and Olivia decided to decorate the Quartermaine mansion for Christmas. Tracy surprised them all by returning for the holidays and declared she had come back just in time as Lois and Olivia’s decorations looked like Coney Island had thrown up in their house. Tracy was stunned to learn that Ned was back to his old self, and nobody had bothered to tell her. However, she was pleased to learn Brook Lynn had a change of heart about working at Deception. Tracy had no idea that Brook Lynn was working to return to company to Maxie, whom she had let in on her plan and the two had patched things up. Lucy, was another story as she refused to forgive Brook Lynn for her betrayal.
Maxie’s Credit Card Woes
Felicia was shocked to learn Maxie was deep in credit card debt, having run up her bills to stay afloat while Decpetion’s stocks and finances were locked down during the lawsuit. To make matters worse, she, Lucy and Sasha were working without taking a salary in order to be able to pay their employes. Felicia offered to help Maxie find a way out of her financial troubles, as did Brook Lynn, who was more determined than ever to hand over controlling interest of Decpetion to Maxie.
Dante Uncovers Clues to Brennan
After learning the WSB confiscated Forsythe’s body and had sealed all the records about his death, and the fire at Anna’s house, Dante retrieved the evidence Forsythe left in the train station locker. Indeed it was not only the files Anna had on the failed op, but there were three passport photos, one which Dante couldn’t identify. There was a wallet with a series of numbers written in it. Sam deduced the numbers could be a bank account. Dante eventually brought Anna in on what he had found. She realized the numbers were likely to Swiss bank account, and identified the mysterious third passport photo as John Brennan, who was the new WSB director. She hadn’t thought about him in so long, but he was also involved in the failed op she and Forsythe were involved in, which resulted in the murder of an Eastern European general who was supposed to be defecting with top secrets, and the million dollars he was being paid to do so went missing. They quickly deduced Brennan had the general killed and stole the money, hiding it in a Swiss bank account.
And Just Like That, It’s All Over
John Brennan was on our screens for all of two seconds before Dante and Anna teamed up to bring both him and Hume down for their crimes. A plot that had dragged on for months was wrapped up in a matter of minutes. Viewers didn’t mind as the whole Pikeman story turned out to be a hot mess, but were sad as Charles Mesure who played Brennan had so much talent and potential, not to mention mad chemistry with Carly.
Ned and Michael Both Exploit Nina
Ned learned Drew and Michael were planning to make moves against him at ELQ, so he told Nina unless she got dirt on them for him, he’d expose her as the one who sold out Carly and Drew to the SEC. Nina turned to Michael for help, explaining Ned’s extortion, and Michael said he’d deal with it. He gave Ned temporary control of his voting shares at ELQ to back off, explaining he hadn’t outed Nina as to not hurt Willow and his father. Ned warned Michael not to trust Nina.
It’s All Coming Back to Me Now
Upon moving into her new apartment with Ace, Esme decorated what she thought was their first Christmas tree. Suddenly she had a flash back to last year, being trapped in the tower in Wydnemere, and decorating a pathetic plastic tree with toilet paper. Esme dropped Ace off with Spencer on Christmas Eve to go explore Wyndemere, where all her memories came flooding back to her. She was narrowly caught by Ava, Laura, Sonny and Dante, who arrived after learning there was a break-in, but she managed to escape
Helena 2.0
Before Christmas, Kevin caught Charlotte admiring her bullet scar, calling it her first battle wound. She also put on the necklace Victor had left to her, that belonged to Helena. Kevin warned Laura that it seemed Charlotte was being pulled in by the darker members of the Cassadine family. Laura vowed to save Charlotte from her family’s dark legacy, and wished more than ever that Lulu would wake up as her daughter needed her.
Monica Returns To Set Things Right
Monica returned from her years abroad attending medical conferences for the holidays. One of her first orders of business, alongside Tracy, was to make it clear that General Hospital would stand behind Finn in the lawsuit they were facing and were not about to throw him under the bus and make a deal to save the hospital.
Felicia and Spinelli Scheme
Felicia and Spinelli hatched a scheme to help Maxie with her bills. They convinced Maxie that Spinelli was homeless for the holidays as a burst water pipe had flooded his apartment. Maxie invited him to move into her guest room, and he insisted on paying rent and help out with the utilities. However when Spinelli discovered Cody had stopped by on Christmas Eve with gifts for Maxie and the kids, he was furious and chased him off, saying he had no family there. Sasha, who was also there, shamed Spinelli for how he acted, but Felicia secretly shared in Spinelli’s belief that Cody was still keeping secrets. She later confided in Sasha and Maxie that she suspected Cody lied about not being Mac’s son.
Kristina Makes Another Offer
TJ and Molly received yet another setback when Dr. Navarro informed them even though Kristina offered to be a surrogate, they’d have to start at square one in all the tests that would need to be run on Kristina. They would also need to secure an egg donor, and even then there was no guarantee the implantation would be a success. Kristina got the idea to offer to be their surrogate and egg donor. TJ and Molly accepted, but Alexis brought up the legal issue that in New York, genetic surrogacies such as this are not protected by the law. Kristina and Molly were determined to make this work and find a legal way for Molly and TJ to adopt this child once born. Alexis saw that her daughters were determined to this and supported them.
Ava Moves In
After Ava received another mysterious note, and this time a gun along with it, Nina pushed her to tell Sonny. She refused, so Nina blurted the truth out to Sonny on Christmas Eve. After the break-in at Wydnemere, Sonny wasn’t taking any chances with Ava or Avery’s safety and informed her they were moving into his place until they figured out who was tormenting her, and if the person was using Ava to get to him. After Brennan’s arrest, he maintained he had nothing to do with the Metro Court shooting, which meant the guilty party was still out there somewhere.
Aiden Comes Out
Finn and Violet joined Liz, Aiden and Jake on Christmas Eve before the reading of the Christmas Story at the hospital. Aiden confided in his mother about a person he liked at school who he had grown close to, and that their name was Tobias. As Aiden gushed about the boy, Liz thanked him for trusting her with his truth
Cyrus Hears a Confession
After eavesdropping on Michael and Nina in Rice Plaza discussing their secrets, Cyrus later decided to slip into a church confessional when Nina decided to unburden her sins. She confessed to hurting someone out of spite, which had hurt those she loved as a result, and was caught between a rock and a hard place. Cyrus figured out that she had been the one to turn Carly and Drew into the SEC and urged her to confess, but Nina couldn’t without losing everything. Cyrus later decided if Nina wouldn’t confess to save her soul, then he’d have to do it for her.
Esme Slips Up
After fleeing Wyndemere, Esme found herself pouring her heart out at Ryan’s grave. She wanted to be good, and had finally found what she assumed was happiness.
